Companions
There are six companions in The Outer Worlds; you can view information about them here. These are Parvati, Vicar Max, Felix, Ellie, Nyoka and SAM.
Companions in The Outer Worlds are recruited either through a quest or conversation. After recruitment, they live on The Unreliable. You can take up to two companions at a time with you when you leave the ship. Each companion provides different skill bonuses.
While on The Unreliable, each crew member lives in a room beside the kitchen (up the stairs from the Captain's quarters, or up the ladders at the back of the hold, by the engine room). Decorations for each room can be obtained by completing their companion quests and collecting special items during your travels.
